Maternal and Child HealthThere are many services available in Japan for maternal and children’s health. Aliens who are registered under the alien registration in Tsu city are eligible to receive following services: (1) Maternal child notebook. We suggest to consult with a hospital that has obstetrical department, if you think you are pregnant. Once pregnancy is confirmed, submit "the pregnancy report" to the respective Health Center of Tsu City or branch offices and you will receive the maternal,child booklet. Please make sure you do receive it. (2) Health check for pregnant women. Submit a request for health check for pregnant woman as attached to the “Mother/Child Health Pamphlet” at the medical office. She will be able to receive health check up once in her early stage of pregnancy, and again in the later stage, with free of charge. (3) Health checks for babies and infants. When an infant reaches the age of 4 months and 10 months respectively,
the infant will be able to get a general health check at medical offices
with free of charges. This health check required to submit “request
for general health check for infants” as attached to the “Mother/Child
Health Pamphlet”. (4) Health consultation.
(5) Vaccinations. Please get vaccinations for prevention of illness. Vaccinations are available
at cooperating medical institutions.
