(1) Child welfare allowance.

  1. Child allowance.Child welfare allowance will be paid to any person who is raising a child.
    1. Qualifications for child allowance.
      • Those who have address in Japan.
      • Those who are raising a child whose age is under the graduation age from elementary school.
      • The income is under a certain limit.
    2. Amount of allowance.
      • The first and second child: each 5,000 yen a month.
      • The third child and onwards: each 10,000 yen a month.
  2. Allowance for raising a child. A mother who is a residence in Japan and raising a child on their own due to divorce or separation with the child’s father, is eligible to receive an allowance for raising the child. A person who is raising a child on behalf of their parent is also eligible for receiving allowance.

    Amount of allowance.
    A child: In case of full payment: 41,720 yen/month. In case of partial payment:
      41,720 ~ 9,850 yen/month.
    Two children: Adding 5,000 yen to the above amount.
    In case of 3 or more children: Additional 3,000 yen/month will be added on.

    * In case of a foreigner, there may be a case where foreigner is not permitted to apply for above allowances. The qualification of a foreigner will depend on their status of residence (Visa) in Japan. (ie. Period of stay)

  3. Child care support (Program for Family Support Center)
    This is a child care program to help you look after your child when you leave the child for transport your other child to and from day care center or kindergarten, as well as in case of other emergency.

    The organization is under the membership system. They help to find someone who can provide child care support upon request of a member. (Service is chargeable) It is under the basis of mutual trust between members to provide temporary assistance. Therefore, it is required to register the membership in advance to use the service.

    Child care support charge (basic rate)
    7:00 ~ 19:00 on weekdays: 700 yen per hour (800 yen in other hours)
    * There might be some additional costs incurred depending on actual costs and content of the service.

(2) Welfare for handicap.

Those who have physical, hearing, visual, heart, kidney, and mental disorders are covered by this program.
People who have been recognized by the governor of the prefecture as handicap, are able to receive "Physical Handicap Notebook," "Medical Notebook" or “Mental Health Welfare Notebook.”
If you are a holder of the notebook, you will be able to get tax exemption and other various services.
However, foreigners who temporarily stay in Japan for a short period or entered Japan with a tourist visa are excluded, and only those who are handicapped and continuously stay in Japan are eligible for this program.

(3) Senior welfare

Seniors in age of 65 or over who needs assistance are eligible to apply for home care service and other care services at care centers. These are mainly applicable to aliens who registered in Tsu City.
