Bank.

(1) Business hours.

Business hours for banks are from 9:00 to 15:00, from Monday through Friday.
Some banks have set counters where banking service is available outside business hours or holidays, contact your bank for details.

(2) How to open an account.

Required documents for opening savings account.

• Certificate of alien registration or passport.
• Your stamp (seal). (If you are not a Japanese, only requires your signature.)
• Application sheet (which is available at the bank).
• Cash for deposit.

(3) Payments for utilities.

It is possible to automatically withdraw utility charges from your bank account such as water, electricity, gas, telephone and NHK TV. To apply for automatic withdrawal, please apply at each financial institutions and/or the offices for respective organizations. Required documents for application as follows:

• Invoice or receipt of each respective charges.
• Your bankbook.
• A stamp (seal) that is being used for the bankbook.

(4)Overseas remittance.

Overseas remittance is possible through a bank. Please check with the bank for details.
